Kicking off my 2025 wedding season with Katy and Geoffrey’s beautiful day at the stunning Woodhall Manor was honestly the perfect way to begin. A winter wedding full of love, laughter, and bubbles — exactly the kind of day I love capturing as a wedding photographer, and what a joy it was to photograph at Woodhall Manor.

The morning started super calm — always a dream. The girls were relaxing with drinks, chatting, and enjoying the slow build-up to the day. No rush, no stress — just that lovely quiet buzz. Meanwhile, the guys were outside grabbing some fresh (very fresh… it was freezing) air for a few photos before heading inside to play a game of pool. Such a laid-back vibe set the tone perfectly for the rest of the day.

One of the most emotional moments was Katy’s first look with her two sisters and her dad. There were definitely a few tears (from them, and maybe a little from me behind the camera). It was such a special moment to witness — one of those times where you really feel the meaning behind the day.

The ceremony itself was packed with emotion too. Geoffrey was holding back tears as Katy walked in (and who could blame him — she looked incredible), and his dad gave a heartfelt reading that had everyone listening in silence. You could truly feel the love in the room, which is one of my favourite parts of being a wedding photographer — capturing those genuine, unfiltered emotions.

After the ceremony, instead of a traditional confetti shot, Katy and Geoffrey went for bubbles — and it was so much fun! The guests really got into it, and the two groomsmen, Matt & Chris, were next to me with bubble guns, creating total bubble mayhem. It brought out everyone’s inner child and made for some amazing, joy-filled photos.

It was pretty chilly outside (classic February), so after the group shots we took a short break to warm up before heading back out for bridal party pics and couple portraits. My fingers were numb by the end of it — no idea how Katy and Geoffrey managed it in their outfits — but they were total troopers. It was absolutely worth braving the cold, and the portraits came out beautifully.

Everyone headed inside for dinner — a delicious meal with speeches in between courses, which had the room swinging between laughter and tears (in the best way). You could tell how loved these two are by everyone in the room. Katy’s maid of honour even reminisced on some of Katy’s very old Facebook posts during her speech… thankfully, not all of them got read out!

The evening kicked off with the cake cutting and their first dance, followed by my dance floor photo game — which never fails to bring out the best group shots. So much energy, silliness, and pure fun.

And the cherry on top? I left with a plate of Woodhall Manor’s mac & cheese and garlic bread. Honestly… what more could you want?

Katy and Geoffrey, thank you for such an incredible day. It was such a pleasure to capture every single moment as a Woodhall Manor wedding photographer, and I’m so glad I got to experience this stunning venue firsthand. If the rest of this year is anything like your wedding, I’m in for an amazing season!

Check out some photos from their day!
